Focus Label Machinery enters administration, ceases trading

The UK manufacturer of narrow web printing and converting equipment experienced financial challenges that were compounded by recent geopolitical uncertainties.

Focus Label Machinery Ltd., a UK manufacturer of narrow web printing and converting equipment, has entered administration and ceased trading following financial difficulties.

Based in Bingham, Nottinghamshire, UK, the company manufactured a range of bespoke flexographic, hybrid, and digital printing systems for customers worldwide. The business employed 21 people, all of whom have been made redundant.

According to administrator CY Group, Focus Label Machinery had been experiencing cash flow pressures and had been in discussions with its financial institution regarding additional support. When those efforts proved unsuccessful, the company’s directors appointed joint administrators to preserve value for creditors.

Justin Brown, director of CY Group, said the company’s financial challenges were compounded by delayed customer payments following geopolitical uncertainty earlier this year, including disruptions linked to the conflict involving Iran. He said the directors were unable to secure further banking support before deciding to place the business into administration.

The announcement comes just months after Focus Label Machinery received the Stationers’ Company Warrant for its Dflex Digital Hybrid Press, recognizing excellence in product innovation.

The joint administrators are seeking a buyer for the company’s business and assets, including its freehold manufacturing facility in Bingham.
